"A pleasant surprise benefit of the course: I'm actually ENJOYING removable now! I've taken Tuan's lessons in communication and tried to apply them to my patient communication. The area, aside from case acceptance (more on that later), that I've seen the most tangible benefits is with my removable patients. I have my office and I also associate part time still. They are very different. My office is in a high income area with lots of growth, about half FFS half PPO. The office where I associate is in a lower income neighborhood and is about 70% Medicaid, with the difficult patients that come with it. In both offices, I've had a lot of success since starting the Maverick course. "When I posted about my failing startup 3 years ago, Tuan was one of the dentists who took interest. "I just opened my startup last December & have high tech, lots of time with patients and am OON/FFS similar to Tuan's office. He has helped me a great deal in the planning & execution of my office as well as my previous experiences to shape the patient experience in my office. I worked in a high volume PPO office last year & produced $1M myself doing all procedures including 3rds, implants, endo & restorative. No compensation for hygiene or x-rays as that was completed by hyg or assistants, just the dental procedures that I actually did & it was exhausting. I can understand everyone's reluctance to drop $6300 on Tuan's course info however it is an investment in yourself that will pay back very well once you implement the techniques to help patients to understand their current dental condition & how to maintain it or improve it as needed. The reality is that too many dentists follow the skewed advice of others that you will fail & die if you don't do anything but reduced fee dentistry. Tuan is trying to help others see how a different model can work & work well. I am surrounded by chains & lots of competition. A dentist on every corner and after 5 months our NP source drastically changed from postcards to word of mouth. It can be done much easier than many other dentists will lead you to believe. I applaud Tuan for doing this venture & trying to help other established or new grad dentists to enjoy how they will re-invigorate their office or build it from the beginning the way they want it to be.
